Piano Servicing

Aside from regular tunings, the other parts of the piano need regular maintenance as well. Parts inside the action will warp, break or just wear out over time. In order to make sure the piano is providing the best tone and performance these parts need to be adjusted or replaced as needed as they drift away from their designed specifications.

Other parts of the piano need to be checked on from time to time as well. All screws in the piano need to be tightened once in a while (how often would depend on the piano). Strings should be seated, especially if the tuning has drifted to far from A440. Strings should also be level so that they contact the hammers evenly.

Regular cleaning should also be performed on the piano. There are many parts of the piano which are difficult to get to, which will make them hard to clean if dirt is allowed to accumulate and build up. Keeping the piano clean, not only keeps the piano looking good but helps by not allowing dirt to interfere with any moving parts of the piano.
